I may think about it if I ever mess around with anything high power for a lengthy period of time. I did note years ago that when I overdrove my early green DPSS laser pointer the beam geometry and position on a far wall would change as it warmed up, then moved back as I cooled it with...
Some of the implements used in that era inspire enough nightmares as it is, I don't think I would like to know any more.
I did once see a really vintage drill unit which was basically a motor in the base which ran a drill head using a really, really long drive belt that took an incredibly...
I would say go for it, even if it's a step on a ladder which may be before a step down. if you've BEEN paid 200k/pa then its incentive for better pay from other companies in the future which may align better with your conscience.
All that being said, this is several months later. Did you take...
I have a tendency to think that there are absolutely other intelligent civilisations out there, it's ridiculous to think we're alone in this universe.
However, to think that they would use their insane technology to come to earth, skim around our atmosphere for half an hour, out at sea, then...
I wouldn't like to post my work area, you have to scrape about 12" of various electrical crap off of it before you can get to the soldering iron. Really needs to be sorted out, maybe soon....
Looks like one of those old electrotherapy quackery machines from the late 1800's/early 1900's, you would often see them used for headache relief and a holst of other things. Occasionally you see higher voltage ones with neon/argon glass tubes which illuminate when brought next to the skin for...
I'll do my best to comply, everyone please note I'm NOT selling at the minute but I note that there are people interested, I will abide by the forum rules and don't really want to just post absolute garbage unless I have to.
I'm currently working away from home but once I'm back I will try to...
I'll try to get some pics uploaded soon, we have a lot going on at the minute so might take me a while unfortunately but I will definitely do so.
I've hafd a quick look online and from memory it looks like the TO-9, quite wide front section, small flange at the back.
They aren't C-mount diodes, I just looked up the package style and they look like a larger version of the TO-56. I couldn't find a package which matches them. I would say the front part of the diode is maybe 7-8mm in diameter.
I have a few dead DPSS modules which were genuinely in the region of <5mW green output, with proper IR filtering etc and cooling fins, from industrial process control systems.
So I was wondering about the optics, would it be possible to fit a MUCH higher power diode or would the optics fail...
Hey everyone, I'll put some pictures up tonight.
Unown - Yea I saw that rule, I'm not trying to circumvent it or anything, just gauging whether there's any point in doing anything with thse lasers. Seems a few people are interested so I'll try to be a little less anti-social and put some more...
Hello everyone, I have a simple question, which is in today's Diode laser times, are Gas lasers still relevant?
I have a box of gas lasers, red and green which came from various industrial processes, just wondering what, if anything can be done with them these days?
I'm not all that interested...
