Thermal management is always important for spacecraft and satellites. The parts that are in direct sunlight get very hot, and the parts that are not get very cold. So we always have a thermal management system that is in constant operation, just to keep inside temperatures within parameters...

I love the pics! It was the hydroxychloroquine testing protocol, and I'm back on it now for my rheumatoid arthritis. My RH factor rose since I had stopped taking it a few years ago. Talk about timing! That is much more modern than we were doing a decade ago! We had to work with stereo...

In modern high powered weapon laser builds, I often attach a long thin FAC strip directly in front of the rows of emitters of each multi-emitter die bar. I then attach the prepared fiber ends in front of each emitter, after the FAC strip. I combine the multiple fibers in a bundle in the desired...

The super massive black holes at the hearts of galaxies are great power sources. They can be tapped from very far away, since that energy travels at many thousands of times the speed of light. Nichola Tesla understood this, and patented methods for sending and tapping into this energy, gathering...

I was kinda hinting that someone IS already on it, and has been for some time. Google Mars is your friend.

Would you like for me to send you the funds to cover the cost of Coonie's?

You might want to look up the Apollo medical channel recordings. They were recorded by multiple amatuer radio operators. The crew that went were not alone, and felt compelled to share with mission control, despite being told not to do so in advance of the mission. Dr Edgar Mitchell (Apoollo 14)...

Sorry to report, Mars is already claimed. Russia sent a spacecraft to orbit Mars and send back images. The last image captured was of a large black object coming up at the spacecraft from Mars before the russian spacecraft was destroyed. They decided not to try again. I'm conflicted, to a...

Correct. I built one LPM and sent the rest of those very nice LPM cases to Kenom so he could use them to build LPMs to sell so he could repay me. He ended up selling the plastic cased hobby LPMs instead and I was not repaid. Rather than send off the last of the heads to Kenom and lose even more...

I had posted pics of my LPM design on here many years ago. I had externally black powdercoated aluminum cases fabricated, and had sent boxloads of them to Kenom after sending him the majority of the Ophir heads that I had bought... He chose to use a different design that lacked the ADC...

Now that the USAF spinoff, the Space Force, has been created... maybe some of the lesser secrets of our USAF space program will become more mainstream. I was involved in the spy plane and stealth programs, and I flew 3 orbits in one of the X-37 prototypes. I was sad to see the X-37B replace...

I tested using one of my Ophir head LPMs. I have the head heatsinked and always zeroed it prior to measurements. I built my LPMs myself.

I bought one of those a year ago to test. With the supplied lens, 1.5 W peak and it would taper down to about 1.2 W and hold there. With a glass lens it peaked at 1.7 W and tapered down to about 1.45 W. The chinese seller advertised it as 5W, and for the $40 I paid, I fully expected it to be far...
