I got my 32U4 from sparkfun. But they also have it on digikey.

Thanks, didn't know they had it. I was looking for a place that offers them at >5.5$ in quantities of 10 Looks like I'll have to buy 25 to get a decent price break.

Digitkey seems to have pretty good price.

Yes, actually. It has enough pins to add on a TFT touchscreen LCD, and a sd card data logger. I'm going to work on it in couple of weeks.

The 32U4 wont be fast enough to update a colour LCD at a decent rate, will it?

32u4 can handle it since there is a saperate graphic processor in the LCD module. It is just like how you would drive the normal LCD , sort of. Besides the update rate doesn't have to be super fast. 10fps will be sufficient.
