I was just 'bouncing' ideas around. Sorry couldn't resist. Beam dump seems to be the way forward! I am using the back of a ceramic tile at the moment, but it needs a coating because even the back provides reflectivity.
Great post! Thanks for sharing and taking the time to respond!
Apologies if there are some inaccuracies in my post. Feel free to point them out, it's the only way I will learn. :)
While I perhaps came across a little negative about the strange blue laser and the USB, it's a notable feature...
Your point about the key and the sticking button is a good point actually! I hadn't thought about that. Another reason to avoid poorly engineered parts I guess.
I am the type that likes a constant stream of new information. I guess that's why I like engineering in general, lasers being another wonderful part of that scientific world. It's rather ironic that something that looks so cool, really shouldn't be looked at in all it's glory. Does that even...
Hi everyone,
I've seen that there are a few ways to terminate the laser beam. FOr example, shining onto a heat resistant/light absorbing material.
I was wondering, is there such a device that has an aperture for the beam to pass through, with mirrors to reflect the beam into the closed...
Thanks for the welcome everyone. 🙌 Have to say, I am staggered by the amount of information on here. I almost feel like a mute at the moment due to the vast amount of information.
I'd be lying if one of the allures of lasers was the potential to actually burn things with light, but it's so...
I'd be genuinely interested to see a large scale build of a Death Star, lasers or not.
If I were carrying out a build, i'd certainly share!
I fear we may have to just settle with a bad quality picture of my life size Darth Vader shooting lasers from his crotch (green ones too).
They're not 7W...
Like many people who find there way into tech as a hobby, from a non-professional background. I often start off with something that is fairly easily attainable and then pull that to bits, learn and move on to bigger and better aspects of it. I am not very good at putting stuff back together. :p...
Arriving tomorrow! Looking forward to being able to switch this laser on without the danger of permanent blindness.
The amount of people review eBay lasers and obviously high powered lasers on YouTube without any protection is staggering.
HI!!!
Thanks for this! I found a pair on Amazon that also look good but am unsure. Saya they come with CE cert. I can't post the link yet as I am new but if you search for 'MCWlaser Laser Safty Protective Goggles Glasses For 355nm 532nm 808nm 980nm 1064nm (190-540 & 800-1700nm) Absorption...
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to pop on here before getting stuck in.
I think my first research is where is the best place to buy reputable pair of goggles in the UK.
I have two lasers, Blue (I think 450nm) and Green, (532nm). Both sketchy ebay purchases and I am quite confident that they are not the...
