Finishing up my custom M140 laser :)

It definitly burns, even when not very focused. Once I get back to school I will see if I can run a couple on a CNC lathe. Right now I'm using a Hardinge HLV-H... I might make another one this summer, stainless steel I'm leaning towards. I wish I had a lathe with live tooling... I can do most...

Finishing up my custom M140 laser :)

Finally finishing up my laser :) I just need to decide if I want to make a metal switch or use a rubber boot. M140 diode, driven at 1.5A by a benboost driver. Right now it has a brushed finish, but I think I might polish it up again.

    Second homemade laser

WOW! Those anodizing jobs are beutiful. I have never seen any of those hosts before, but now I know I definitely want to anodize mine. I won't mess with the ones I have made, but I will on some new ones. I need to get some anodizing materials again... all of mine are 800 miles away at my home.

FREE DIY open source BOOST driver!!! Tested & working!!

It is boosting the voltage so I assume that means that the driver is doing something. I will look into Oshstencils. Depending on how long their shipping is I might just try making my own on a lasercam. I can post pictures like you asked to show how the rest looks and see if there are any...

FREE DIY open source BOOST driver!!! Tested & working!!

It's the llp3x3 Thats unfortunate if that is the case, that's my last one in that package. I left it at the lab, I'll foe back later tonight or tomorrow. Low resistance means it's the lm3410?

    Second homemade laser

I should be making a bunch more soon with some pretty awesome patterns. My work just got a 4 axis cnc mill :) I'm leaning towards some long spiral patters down the length while keeping the slots that parallel with the long length of the body.

FREE DIY open source BOOST driver!!! Tested & working!!

My input power source is a 18650 cell at 4.1v I'm driving an M140 Diode. I reflowed it myself. I did a much better job this time than the one I posted here a year ago. I used a metcal hct2-120 hot air reflow station.

    Second homemade laser

I think I would like to eventually, right now I'm just trying to get more experience on a lathe and I would like to find a more attractive design. I'm going to make another host today.

Hey guys, I lost my laser around 3 months ago, I was wondering if anyone may have seen a laser that looked like this one?

Playing with a 1.5w Blue laser and my eye hurts

I am still a little confused on how looking at a laser dot on a wall that is 1mmx1mm is any different than staring at a 1mmx1mm led emitter? Your comparison of a flashlight to a laser like that is what I said isn't true. A comparison to what I said would be if a laser dot reflecting off a matte...
