Apology accepted.... :thanks:
Sadly, I do not have a LPM. Have not been able to afford one. There are 23 marbles in that bag. A mix of solid and crackle.

Not sure what you are trying to prove here... The only reason for a post like this it to discredit the author... or provoke them.

Some diodes are more efficient than others, so it could just be your diode. If you look at some of the charts in the forums you will see where they have comparisons from one persons test results to another. A 200 mW variance is not uncommon.
Glad you got it to stop powering off!
I would get some cooling spray and cool the end where the driver is. If it stays on, heat is your issue. If not, then it is time to look at other possibilities.
What are you using for batteries? With that driver you should be running two 3.7 V Lithium Ion batteries. For a 7.4 V total. If...
First I need to say that I love this laser, but my bills need to come first...
Now, about the laser.
This was built using a pre-wired module from DTR Laser Shop, and the host kit was purchased here in the forums. He has the module labeled as "1.7W 445nm Copper Blue Laser Module W/X-Drive &...
WTF? NEVER ever mix litium batteries with standard batteries. You are asking for trouble. Different voltages, different current specs, different drain rates...

Still sticking with the LM317? Oh well, gotta admire your determination (if not your ability to take good advice). :D
The max operating temperature for a LM317 is about 125 Deg Celsius (257 F). You can get that information directly from the component's datasheet.
Have you addressed your...
Unlike that permanent tattoo, having blue eyes is not offensive and nobody is going to ask you to cover them to do your job. But I agree... if you decide you don't like it you are out of luck.
When the first FDA approved LASIK surgery went main stream in the 90's the cost was about $2100 per eye... This is 1998 dollars. I am sure the cost will come down once the cost of research and development has been recovered.
I read somewhere the cost will be about $2500 per eye once the procedure is approved by the FDA. I do have brown eyes, and do not want to change.
However, I can see where some people would want it done if they really like blue eyes.
Something like this could be cool lol
