I'm quite aware how useless $100 is.
I lost my job and tinkering is the best thing I have to keep me sane. Excuse my reasoning to look into thrifty ways to skin the same cat. But I feel it was reasonable for me to assume a xenon headlight lamp might be able to excite a nd yag. The emission...
Yeah, digging into the edm, it will require a lot of trial and error, finding the right feed rates and power. I came across a few pages on recommended power for different applications. But overall the process is a bit easier than with everything that comes with pumping a crystal.
The motor is...
And that's why I'm looking at the thrifty option of using headlights, and a fleabay rod as a possibility for pulsed laser.
Like I concluded, it would work in theory. But as far as conversion efficiency, it's not worth the effort.
As suggested, I'm looking at homemade edm machines. The...
I'm custom building a brushless motor for a project. The OD of the motor is 15mm and Id is 8mm. With 9 stator teeth internally. I looked around for a long time and contacted a dozen China suppliers. Custom made motors are around 500 to start.
If i could have made my own laser cutter, I could...
I found some xenon flash tubes on bay for less than 20!!
I have no idea what wattage they are. So I don't know how much power I could get from pulsing the rods.
Anyone know what the high side of the doping percentage would be? I found a rod rated for 1.1%Nd less nd, faster switching...
Oh man I had no idea the efficiency was so low!!
I would do better focusing the hid bulbs with a fresnal lense and trying to cut with that!
I believe it is fully finished m19 grade silicon Steel, with a laminated coating. The sheet is supposedly .014" thick. I'm not sure if there are various hardness levels through the thickness, but i doubt it. I know there would be various crystalline arrangements, being silicon Steel.
Yeah, I...
I have plain fully finished sheets ready to be cut. Hmm a diamond wire would be a really great way, , but difficult to cut the pattern by hand. I figured I would have to do a final ennealing after I stacked the cuts. The issue with the physical material such as bladed cutting, is that the size...
The lights I have been looking at are about 100w. The ratings seem so obscure and it is difficult to know what actual light output efficiency is. A pair would run me about $15. Maybe I could run them pulsed?
As far as how slow it takes, that's fine. I could program the cnc to run 1/2mm a min...
Hey all.
I did a search and couldn't find any previous post regarding using xenon or xenon /Krypton mix hid bulbs for pumping nd yag rods.
The reason I'm interested is that I've recently come by some very nice silicon Steel laminations that I need to laser cut. I have a cnc that I could adopt...
Ill look back over the data sheets and see if the die is on there.
I recall reading an article a couple years ago, linked off this forum, of a guy that did some home die wire bonding. I remember he burned his first die, and used, i believe pure indium for the second. Since these dies (dice?)...
Thanks Alaskan. Ill look into photodiodes a bit more. When i was messing with the leds, they produced triple that voltage, and almost the same current. With the active area being, a 10th that size?
Encap, man. I dont know if i pissed you off at some point, or what. If i did, im sorry. I posted...
I contacted minco, who is now owned by another company, and they told me they no longer supply to non business individuals. I thought i hit the jackpot, because they are located here in my hometown.
Ill use a solar panel, if soneone can find me a mono cell small enough for my application, or a...
Yes, i knew it would come up, and you're all going to laugh. I want to use them as solar panels of sorts for a wearable. Surprisingly, they put out a fair voltage, but not so much current in sunlight.
hey everyone, im looking for a supplier for bare LED dies (dice?) a strange request, i know.
obviously, as a home gamer, i dont need 50,000 a month. and i need more than one or two, so requesting samples is out.
specifically i am looking for infrared GaAs chemistry. roughly the ones used in...
After lookinh around some more i think the best thing would be to go with the sxd drives. Remove the resistor and soft start cap.
I could do some custom trim pots and set a min and max current on each driver, for each diode. That way i can manually adjust output as needed.
Thanks benm
I would like intensity control. Its for a simple handheld pointer. And since I'm combining colors, contolling each lasers frequency separately is whats important. Intensity is also important, i would like to be able to drop current output. the frequencies I'm looking for shouldn't be too fast...
