Just finished ordering all the components to build some of these drivers. How long has it taken for you guys to receive your PCB's after confirmation the order for them has been submitted?
Be sure you are soldering your negative connection on the driver board after the sense resistor, which sounds like an R20 on your board if it's a 1.2A output board. Soldering the negative connection before the sense resistor will result in overdriving your diode to 2+ Amps depending what your...
Thanks very much blord! Upon close inspection discovered that the heat sink makes contact with the flashlight pill upon tightening the front bezel. Confirmed with DMM that the heat sink and diode were conducting ground via the housing and therefore overdriving the diode.
Edit: rep added Blord...
I have one of these boards that I swapped the sense resistor value to .520hm, so I was seeing about 478mA with a 4v test load and 8.4v input (2x16340). After disconnecting power I Shorted the leads on the board as a pre-caution and Hooked up an LPC-826. After a few short duty cycles in an...
with the proper current limiting resistor in place, say to limit the board to 470mA would it be possible to use this board with a LPC-826? Or is the voltage this board puts out too high for the LPC-826 without a diode in between the driver and laser diode?
Jufran, just wanted to let you know that I got my test load last week. Very quick shipping! Also after about 10 mins I had it all together. This is an awesome kit, works perfect and looks great, for the price it's a real bargain! Thanks again.

If the spring itself is isolated, it looks like you can set up the polarity according to your host with a solder bridge from either the positive or negative pad to the spring. Just be sure the module casing is electrically isolated from the host. Hope it's not already too late.
Ive sent Dr. Lava an email and am waiting back. In the meantime I suppose I will just use this in a red build with a 480mA output so I dont have to worry about it, and use a different driver for the 445 build.
Hello all. I have been searching and haven't found any info regarding the value of the removable resistor on the flex drive. I have a version 4 flex drive that was used in an old build that I will be using for a new build, however the last bridgable resistor had been removed to set the output...
