Thanks, That's good to know. I use a diamond thermal compound that I make myself with 50% silver heat sink compound and 50% diamond powder by weight. It is a very fine grit. Using synthetic diamond powder makes it extremely thermally conductive.
Very interesting. Have you tested it to compare...
Nice. Here is the one I built with the NDG7475 in it. I believe it was 1.5 or 1.6 watts. It was crazy bright. The focus adapter lit up so brightly that you can't see the beam in some pictures. Lol. Ehgemus is the man.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please
Mayyyybe. Lol. I had a guy asking me for one, but he hasn't been responding for the past day or two. Let me check this new one out this weekend, and I will let you know. The sensor looks absolutely flawless...
Good luck. I don't think anyone has been able to get a response on this for a long time. I messaged about it a long time ago, as did several others. I think it's safe to assume it never came to fruition, otherwise I would think he would be trying to make some money on this.
Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please
$200usd! I paid $200 for my first one, which was confirmed spot-on accurate before purchase, and came with meter, power cable, sensor without shroud or stand, and sensor cable. The second one, I paid $45 for...

Negative. Those would be the NDG700. I just went through my texts because I remember talking to him about buying a 700 diode from him. He said he runs them at 2.5A and gets 1.4W out of them.
By the way, did...
Do check the driver. I have had a few SXDs mysteriously quit. They were heatsinked well, just like the at least 25 other ones I've built with 4A or 4.5A SXDs. No clue what happened with them.
I did not. I guess it doesn't give me email notifications when I receive visitor messages. Private messages are best. But let me go check for it right quick.

Exactly what I was thinking. I knew that heatsinking the inductor was a no-no, but I couldn't remember exactly why. That's why I originally asked about heatsinking this driver because on the component side, the inductor sticks up much higher than all other components.
I only use full copper modules unless I absolutely can't. They seem to provide much better thermal transfer, and they allow me to pull the module out a little in some of my builds to provide easier access to the focus adapter while losing only negligible amounts of heat dissipation.
What type...
