The main host bodies are usually white copper or cupronickel. The heat sink in my 470nm 5watt Sanwu Silver is red copper and not brass. The whole unit is one huge heat sink. Excellent design.
The Sanwu x3 beam expander goes a long way in correcting this. It certainly tightens the beam right up over a long distance. I tried it with both their 1w 635nm and 5w 470nm, makes a huge difference and a good fix at $55!

Sanwu make great lasers but at a price, I'm with you there. I've got a few Sanwu products. Pocket lasers are a great place to start when money permits! :)

I haven't ordered my 470nm 5watt Silver yet, just paying out lots of bills, building works, oil etc...I might have to hang fire for another few weeks until I get paid for the work I'm doing, but sure enough, I'll burn another hole in my pocket...
The only reviews are on the Sanwu website on the Laser Rangers product page. I looked yesterday and there were three very good write ups. Just surprised that nobody has posted a YouTube review.

I’ve not seen a single review on the Laser Rangers product by Sanwu. Someone somewhere must have made the purchase? But nothing, I’ve searched the net and couldn’t find anything at all.
